A 20-30 minute screening check designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes and dementia. It is for those aged 40-74 and do not have a pre-existing medical condition. The health check involves

Essex Wellbeing Service
People between the ages of 40 and 74 who do not have a pre-existing health condition* will be invited for an NHS health check every 5 years.

Hertfordshire Health Improvement Service
Health Checks through Hertfordshire Health Improvement Services have resumed and will be running in various locations around Hertfordshire.
The check is for people who are aged 40 to 74 who have not had a health check in the last 5 years and do not have any of the following pre-existing conditions:
heart disease
chronic kidney disease
diabetes
high blood pressure (hypertension)
atrial fibrillation
transient ischaemic attack
inherited high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolemia)
heart failure
peripheral arterial disease
stroke
currently being prescribed statins to lower cholesterol
previous checks have found that you have a 20% or higher risk of getting cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years
You should have regular check-ups if you have one of these conditions. Your care team will be able to give you more information about this.

Free NHS Health Check with Total Wellbeing Luton
The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40-74. It's designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions. An NHS Health Check helps find ways to lower this risk.

Free Mini Health Check with SiSu Health
Don't qualify for an NHS Health Check? Or want to regularly monitor and track your health status? Then why not use one of Luton's FREE health stations.
Luton Council is working in partnership with Active Luton, Luton Libraries and SiSu Health to support the local community in improving their health and wellbeing. 3 Health Stations, which are free to use, are located in Luton and are supported by trained specialists who can advise you if you discover you have high blood pressure.

“If you are aged 40 – 74 and live in Norfolk, or are registered with a Norfolk GP practice, you could be eligible for a free NHS Health Check.

Annual health check for people with severe mental health conditions
If you have schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or psychosis, your GP surgery should invite you to have an annual health check. During your health check, the doctor or nurse will be able to look for any health problems, to help you get the treatment you need to stay well. You can ask them questions about your health and tell them how you are feeling. You can also talk about any treatment you are having or medicines you take.”

14+ Yearly Learning Disability Health Check
“Yearly health checks are for adults and young people aged 14 or over with a learning disability. A yearly health check helps you stay healthy, giving you an opportunity to talk to a professional about your health. If there are any problems, they will make sure you get the right care. You do not have to be unwell to have a health check. Most people have their annual health check when they're feeling well.”
